Pitts Special S2-B
Owned by our own Glenn Pearce, If we ask nicely, we may get to see this one in the air!
With a climb rate of 2700 fpm and a roll rate of 240 degrees per second the Pitts Special, light aerobatic biplane can be found at airshows and aerobatic competitions everywhere since it’s debut in 1944. This particular Pitts S2-B was originally a RayBan Gold plane. Bill Carter flew it as the ESSO Pitts Special for more than ten years. It has been looped, spun and rolled by several well known aerobatic aviators. It is exciting to have it here in Vanderhoof.
